Zverev has wins against Federer and Djokovic, indeed, he’s beaten both in Masters 1000 finals. But so far a win against Nadal has eluded him, despite the German having had four cracks at him. In the first match, two years ago in Indian Wells, Zverev came close to scoring what would have been a memorable win in the round of 16. He took the first set on a tiebreak and came to within a point of victory in the decider, but ultimately fell 7-6 0-6 5-7.

Nadal defeated him again nearly a year later in Melbourne in a five-set thriller in the third round. The German, then still a teenager, battled valiantly throughout. However, Nadal just had too much guile and experience, and more in his legs, eventually progressing 4-6 6-3 6-7 6-3 6-2. When the pair next met in Monte Carlo, later that year, Nadal destroyed Zverev 6-1 6-1 in the third round. He defeated Zverev again in the Davis Cup quarterfinal tie between Germany and Spain earlier this year in straight sets.

Nadal vs Djokovic live

Rafael Nadal takes on Novak Djokovic for a place in the final of the Italian Masters. Nadal is looking for an eighth crown in Rome, one that would take him back to the top of the rankings. Djokovic, who was long the only serious challenger to Nadal on clay, would surely truly set the cat amongst the pigeons with victory here, so close to the French Open

Nadal began his Italian Open campaign in the second round after a bye in the first. There he thrashed Damir Dzumhur 6-1 6-0. That earned him the chance for revenge against Denis Shapovalov who beat him in a memorable clash last year in Montreal. Nadal took his opportunity, knocking out the Canadian teenager 6-4 6-1. He next faced the last Italian standing, Fabio Fognini.

Djokovic, at the peak of his powers, was the only man able to go toe-to-toe with Nadal on a clay court and walk away the victor with any sort of regularity. The Serbian’s rock-solid backhand withstood the worst of what Nadal could throw at it and about half the time emerged with enough venom left in it to knock Nadal

Rafael Nadal vs Fabio Fognini live

Rafael Nadal will look to continue his stellar clay court season against one of the few players with the confidence and the quality to beat him, Fabio Fognini. Despite a disappointing loss to Thiem in Madrid last week that cost him his #1 ranking, Nadal is still unquestionably a dominant force on the clay.

Nadal, as top seed in Rome, enjoyed a first round bye. That saw him begin his campaign in the round of 32 against Bosnia’s Damir Dzumhur. Perhaps smarting from the loss of his Madrid crown and the #1 ranking, Nadal delivered a ruthless performance to crush Dzumhur for the loss of just one game. He then avenged the defeat Denis Shapovalov inflicted last year in Montreal,

Nadal has already gone some way to showing that his loss to Thiem was a blip rather than a cause for serious concern. Neither Dzumhur nor Shapovalov were able to hold a candle to him, despite valiant efforts on both their parts.

Bellator 199 kicks off this Saturday night with the next installment of their heavyweight Grand Prix tournament, as the promotion’s light heavyweight champ Ryan Bader faces off with “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal in the main event. The winner of that bout will advance to the next round of the tourney to face Matt Mitrione in the semi-finals. The co-main event of the evening will see the Bellator debut for longtime

After leaving the UFC, Ryan Bader captured Bellator’s light heavyweight belt from Phil Davis, then defended his throne by finishing Linton Vassell, and now the 205 pound king is gunning for another title in another division. Against Davis, Bader showed off a kicking game to go along with his punches,

Lee Morrison has a bunch of M-1 experience coming into his Bellator debut. Although Morrison is on a four-fight winning streak, the combined record of those four opponent’s is an abysmal 15-56. So, Morrison is fun and scrappy, but he has been crushing cans lately,

Bellator 199 goes down from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. In the main event, Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader will take on Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in a Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix match-up. Plus, Jon Fitch makes his Bellator debut against Paul Daley.

Linares vs Lomachenko live

the talk that Saturday’s lightweight title fight against WBA champion Jorge Linares is, on paper, likely the toughest fight of Vasiliy Lomachenko’s career, the majority of pre-fight talk has centered exclusively on the two-division champion’s.

Lomachenko’s quickness and punching from different angles will give Linares many problems in the first half of the fight. The Venezuelan will respond better later in the fight, showing stamina and courage, but that won’t be enough.

the man who will share the ring with Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs) inside New York’s Madison Square Garden (8 p.m. ET, ESPN) enters as the class of the 135-pound division for the majority of this decade. He also enters on a 13-fight win streak, among the sport’s most beautiful at combining speed, precision and technique.

Lomachenko, 30, enters with a list of accomplishments through 11 pro fights that is largely unprecedented in boxing history, the two-time Olympic gold medalist will be the one most in need of answering questions as he moves up in weight to seek a third world title in as many divisions.

Lomachenko very much appears to be a special talent that only comes around every quarter century. While it’s hard to predict another dominant victory, similar to his recent sucesss at featherweight and junior lightweight, considering the talent that Linares possesses, it may be just as foolish to doubt he won’t do it again.

WWE Backlash 2018 live

The weekend is here and with it comes the latest joint-brand pay-per-view offering from WWE, as the company presents their WWE Backlash 2018 show from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey this Sunday, May 6th.

WWE Backlash 2018 will be the 14th event in the Backlash chronology, and the first Backlash since 2009 to feature both brands. The show will be headlined by a WWE Championship bout, with A.J. Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura squaring off for the third straight pay-per-view.

The return to dual-branded pay-per-views begins with a trot rather than sprint at WWE Backlash 2018.The days of Raw and SmackDown Live producing their own events are gone. B-level shows like Backlash will feature stars from both brands moving forward.

Sunday’s show in Newark, New Jersey, doesn’t feel like the big deal WWE surely wants it to be, though.A booking detour to hype April 27’s Greatest Royal Rumble event is partly to blame. WWE couldn’t charge straight toward Backlash after coming out of WrestleMania.

WWE Intercontinental Championship bout, with Seth Rollins defending against The Miz. The WWE United States Championship will be up for grabs in a singles match between Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton, and both the RAW and SmackDown Live Women’s Championships will be on-the-line, as Nia Jax defends against Alexa Bliss and Carmella defends against Charlotte Flair in one-on-one showdowns

GGG vs Martirosyan fight live

GGG took the Martirosyan fight, he would lose his IBF strap.Fortunately for the Kazakh, the board have granted him an exception in this fight – but have said he must face mandatory challenger Sergey Derevyanchenko next should he win on May 5.

The IBF have not sanctioned the fight with Nightmare because the challenger is coming off a loss, is a junior middleweight moving up in weight and has not boxed in two years.Golovkin wins – as most expect him to – he needs to open dialogue with Derevyanchenko’s team and set up a meeting before August 3 if he wants to defend the IBF strap

Martirosyan has evolved into more of an action style in recent years (including during a stretch with Joe Goossen as trainer) but has experience stretching fights deep. Yet his long layoff certainly needs to be taken into strong consideration, as does the fact that the more he steps on the gas pedal to create excitement, the more he is open to Golovkin’s thudding power.

Martirosyan has enough craft, speed and a strong amateur pedigree to make things interesting for the first half of the fight. But this isn’t a necessarily a debate about the likelihood that he pulls an upset; not only are the betting odds not in his favor, he lacks the prerequisite elite slickness or heavy counter punching to be taken as a serious enough threat.

Martirosyan is there to simply survive, he may have an outside chance of doing so. But one thing he has never lacked is courage and that desire to put on a show and prove himself again after two years in promotional seclusion should play directly into Golovkin’s hands.

place on Saturday, as Tony Bellew and David Haye come face-to-face again in a rematch of their epic 2017 fight.Bellew, 35, won the pair’s previous fight after an Achilles injury in the sixth round hampered Haye’s performance resulting in an 11th-round stoppage, just the third defeat of the Hayemaker’s career.

The two fighters meet once again at the O2 Arena, with both men stepping into the ring for the first time in the 14 months since their first encounter. With Haye claiming to have undergone a more strict training regime, bookmakers have installed the former world heavyweight champion as the favourite to avenge last year’s defeat to the Liverpudlian ‘Bomber

David came in big but I think this time he’ll come in slim and look to box.For me, this will be a more conclusive finish. I think both fighters will be hurt, I think both fighters will be pumped up and if David Haye can turn back time and become the David Haye of old then he win.

David Haye we used to know then Bellew’s in trouble because he doesn’t have the power to stop him.must be able to pivot on his lower legs to generate his great power. The longer the fight goes the worse for Haye, the more tenacious Bellew will become

Martirosyan vs Golovkin live

The cavalcade of shenanigans kicked off by Canelo Alvarez’s failed drug test will finally come to a head this Saturday (May 5, 2018) as Gennady Golovkin instead fights former Junior Middleweight title challenger, Vanes Martirosyan, at StubHub Center, Carson, California.

Loeffler jumped in to quickly reiterate Golovkin’s mission statement — regardless of title defense record or not, big name opponent or late replacement — remains on doing one thing.Martirosyan is there to simply survive, he may have an outside chance of doing so. But one thing he has never lacked is courage and that desire to put on a show and prove himself again after two years in promotional seclusion should play directly into Golovkin’s hands.

But this isn’t a necessarily a debate about the likelihood that he pulls an upset; not only are the betting odds not in his favor, he lacks the prerequisite elite slickness or heavy counter punching to be taken as a serious enough threat. This is more of a discussion about whether Martirosyan finds himself a sneaky candidate to last the full distance.
